Dragon Runner demonstration for Swiss, German and Austrian SWAT

In November COBBS Industries demonstrated the QinetiQ Dragon Runner with great success. Thrown down stairs and climbing up again, pushing heavy cases and opening doors without LOS of the operator, it was no challenge for QinetiQ DR. One again it left the competition speechless..

The lightweight, robust, easy to operate Dragon Runner Small Unmanned Ground Vehicle (DR-SUGV), originally developed for the U.S. Marine Corps, is modular and can be reconfigured in the field. It has been upgraded to:

• Expand its mission capabilities by providing tracks for mobility and a manipulator arm, rotating wrist and gripper add-ons.

• Extend communication range while providing the user field changeable frequency capabilities using analog or digital radio options.

• Standardize vehicle and operator control unit batteries so they can be taken from available government inventory to reduce cost and improve sustainability.

• Provide a maintenance and support plan from our factory to worldwide users, permitting module level repair and sustainment.

• The DR-SUGV operator control unit is intuitive and easy to use. It includes a quad-screen mode to provide four simultaneous camera views or any one individual view.
